Curve, Leicester has unveiled the full cast for its upcoming revival of The Sound of Music, directed by Nikolai Foster. The production, part of the Made at Curve initiative, celebrates the 60th anniversary of the beloved 1965 film.
Returning to the stage are Molly Lynch as Maria and David Seadon-Young as Captain Georg von Trapp, reprising their lead roles after appearing in Curve’s My Fair Lady last year. Joining them is Joanna Riding as Mother Abbess, with Aviva Tulley as Liesl and Faye Brookes portraying Baroness Elsa Schraeder.
The supporting adult cast includes Curve regulars: Megan Ellis, Rachel Izen, Minal Patel, Mark Peachey, Keanna Bloomfield, Harrison Burley, Will Luckett (also associate director), Louie Wood, Jamie Chatterton, Adam Colbeck-Dunn, Christian Cooper, Leonie Spilsbury, and Becky Anderson, who also serves as dance captain.
A group of young local performers selected via open auditions will portray the Von Trapp children, accompanied by a community ensemble.
The creative team features musical supervisor George Dyer, choreographer Ebony Molina, designer Michael Taylor, lighting designer Mark Henderson, sound designer Nick Lodge, props supervisor Ryan O’Connor, associate director Ollie Khurshid, and casting director Olivia Laydon for Jill Green Casting.
Running from 22 November 2025 to 11 January 2026, the show will offer accessible performances including BSL-interpreted, captioned, dementia-friendly, audio-described, and relaxed options. Engagement activities will include school workshops and a dedicated Theatre Day on 4 December.
