There’s an air of mischief and delinquency in Lloyd Griffith’s material. With a brand-new, fresh stand-up show for 2023, his latest offering (his biggest tour to date) is first class; a real breath of fresh air.
Regaling tales from his formative years to adolescence right through to adulthood, this really is a laugh-a-minute from the start. Griffith takes so much pleasure in sharing with us life’s daft misapprehensions with gusto and is able to demonstrate his talents as a vocalist. Impressionable; he sings with an ardently dulcet quality and to the show’s benefit is able to weave this talent into his stories.

A frequent guest host and panellist on Soccer AM, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Mock the Week, he even makes an appearance in the sport comedy drama Ted Lasso. On his current tour he has his audience eating out of the palm of his hand. The off-the-cuff gadfly banter with his audience is intelligently and expertly improvised and he attacks each person’s story with quick fire responses. Endearing and brimming with charm, Griffith is a marvellous storyteller with some of the most side-splitting material one has seen in stand-up.
Lloyd Griffith was brilliantly supported by Matt Bragg, who couldn’t be more different to Griffith in style and observational comedy. Bragg’s wonderful ability to hold the audience with a relaxed yet playful skill is commendable. Watch out for him. He’s going places.
Overall, the evening was a riot with Griffith not pausing for breath. A true master of his craft. Bravo.
