There’s a familiar frustration in wanting to be a more ethical consumer in 2026. Trying to avoid the big-bad-global-conglomerate-guys but finding their investment lurking around every corner. How impossibly infuriating this is.
The cheer of buying a silly thing to brighten up your day. The guilt of getting it delivered by a low-paid worker. Ouch.
A couple of sections don’t feel that closely linked to the topic, but this is a minor quibble, especially given that that this show is a work-in-progress.
Bryan presents an accurate, familiar world where conflicting feelings can be valid and true. She builds an easy rapport with the audience and gives what feels like a very genuine window into the feelings of a millennial woman in an online shopping era. This is a show for anyone who has ever questioned what they spend their money on, and wondered why we need thousands of options when buying a toilet brush.
