Producers have today unveiled a star-studded company of over 30 performers for the highly anticipated world premiere of Sea Witch, set to take over the Theatre Royal Drury Lane for two exclusive performances on Sunday 1 March 2026. This ambitious new musical, which reimagines the origin story of one of the ocean’s most iconic villains, is bringing together a powerhouse of talent from the worlds of musical theatre, pop, and dance.
Leading the principal cast as Nik is Djavan Van De Fliert (Frozen, Les Misérables). He is joined by an impressive line-up including Drag Race icon Michelle Visage as Tante Hansa, Strictly Come Dancing winner Jay McGuiness as Iker, and Olivier Award nominee Natalie Paris (SIX) as Evie. The production also features West End royalty Mazz Murray (Mamma Mia!) as Queen Charlotte, Amy Di Bartolomeo (The Devil Wears Prada) as Annemette, and Natalie Kassanga (Moulin Rouge!) as Malvina.
Inspired by Sarah Henning’s best-selling novel and acting as a prequel to The Little Mermaid, Sea Witch follows Evie, a witch surviving in a world where magic is strictly outlawed. When she encounters a mermaid named Annemette, their intertwined fates lead to a reckoning that promises to reshape their underwater world forever. The scale of the production is reflected in its massive ensemble and a dedicated Dance Company led by choreographer Dean Lee, known for his work with global superstar Janet Jackson.
The musical is driven by a fresh creative team, featuring co-creators Kristopher Russell (who also directs) and Michael David Glover (book), with music and lyrics by Segun Fawole. The production is produced by Russell & Glover Theatrical. With a cast of this calibre and a score described as unlike anything currently on the West End stage, Sea Witch is shaping up to be the theatrical event of the spring. Tickets are now on sale for the 3pm and 7.30pm performances on Sunday 1 March 2026 at lwtheatres.co.uk.
