Sheffield Theatres and Royal Exchange Theatre announce the full cast for Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa. This new production of the multi-award winning play will be the first production directed by Sheffield Theatres’ new Artistic Director Elizabeth Newman. The co-production runs at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre from 13 September to 4 October, before moving to the Exchange’s in-the-round space from 10 October to 8 November.
Martha Dunlea will play the role of Christina; Kwaku Fortune will play the role of Michael; Frank Laverty will play the role of Jack; Rachel O’Connell will play the role of Rose; Siobhán O’Kelly will be playing the role of Margaret; Laura Pyper will play the role of Agnes; Natalie Radmall-Quirke will be playing the role of Kate; and Marcus Rutherford will be playing the role of Gerry. Rosemary Boyle and Richard Galloway complete the cast as Swings.

The creative team, headed up by Newman as Director, will include Francis O’Connor (Designer), Sundeep Saini (Movement Director), Chris Davey (Lighting Designer), Pippa Murphy (Composer and Sound Designer), Arthur Carrington (Casting Director), Amanda Collins (Associate Director), Sadie Mears (Birkbeck Assistant Director), Kaitlin Howard (Fight Director) and Mark Distin Webster (Associate Lighting Designer).
