Chichester Festival Theatre is thrilled to announce the full cast for its highly anticipated production of “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry,” a new musical adaptation of Rachel Joyce’s beloved novel. The production will run from May 5 to June 14 at the Minerva Theatre.
Leading the cast is the acclaimed actor Mark Addy, known for his roles in “The Full Monty” and “Game of Thrones,” who will take on the role of Harold Fry. Joining him is the award-winning Jenna Russell, celebrated for her performances in “Sunday in the Park with George” and “Hello, Dolly!,” who will portray Maureen Fry, Jack Wolfe will join the pair as The Balladeer. The Company is completed with Ralph Birtwell, Amy Booth-Steel, Tarinn Callender, Don Gallagher, Jacqueline Hughes, Nell Martin, Anu Ogunmefun, Ben Redfern, Sharon Rose, Timo Tatzber, and Madeleine Worrall.
The creative team includes director Katy Rudd, making her Chichester debut, and designer Samuel Wyer. The musical features music and lyrics by Passenger, the chart-topping indie musician known for hits like “Let Her Go.”
The story follows Harold Fry, a grey and lonely man who embarks on an unexpected journey from South Devon to Berwick-upon-Tweed after receiving a letter from an old friend. As Harold’s pilgrimage gains attention, a group of lost souls joins him, expanding the horizons for both Harold and Maureen.
The production promises to be a moving and uplifting experience, with a talented cast and creative team bringing this heart-warming tale to life. Tickets are now available on the Chichester Festival Theatre website.
