The Barn Theatre, Cirencester, in partnership with Tiny Giant Entertainment, has named the cast for its new production of David Seidler’s acclaimed play The King’s Speech. Directed by Loveday Ingram, the production opens at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester on 9 October 2026, before embarking on a major UK tour in 2027.
Neighbours and Strictly Come Dancing star Stefan Dennis leads the cast as Lionel Logue alongside Casualty and Call the Midwife’s George Rainsford as King George VI.
Joining them are Rosanna Miles as Queen Elizabeth, Lucy Bromilow as Myryle Logue and Wallis Simpson, Tim Hudson as King George V and Winston Churchill, Ian Kirby as Archbishop Cosmo Lang, and Mark Hammersley as King Edward VIII and Stanley Baldwin.
David Seidler’s The King’s Speech is adapted from the Oscar-winning film and tells the remarkable story of Bertie, Duke of York, who must overcome a debilitating stammer in order to fulfil his destiny as King George VI. With the support of unconventional Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue, Bertie is forced to confront his fears and find his voice at a pivotal moment in British history.
The Barn Theatre Cirencester and Tiny Giant Entertainment co-production features set and costume design by Adam Wiltshire, lighting design by Hector Murray, and sound design by Elizabeth Purnell. Casting is by Marc Frankum.
