Universal Theatrical Group and Working Title Films have announced casting for the UK and Ireland tour and limited West End season of the original production of Billy Elliot the Musical.
Annette McLaughlin returns to the role of Mrs Wilkinson, having played the role in the last UK and Ireland tour. Deka Walmsley reprises the role of Dad, after playing the role in the West End and on screen in Billy Elliot the Musical Live. Jack Bandeira takes on the role as Tony and Lesley Joseph will play Grandma. Joseph is not appearing at all tour venues – check your local venue for confirmation.
The company also includes Tanesha Aba, Marc Akinfolarin, Natasha J Barnes, Robbie Boyle, Lydia Bradd, Jack Bromage, Jennifer Caldwell, Alex Christian, Adam Crossley, Natalie Durkin, Nathan Elwick, Ian Gareth-Jones, Shirley Jameson, Jenny Legg, Jay Luca Allan, Charlie R Miller, Lewis Mortier, Perry O’Dea, Matt Overfield, Mark Pearce, Aidan Stuart and Lucy Warway.
Alternating the role of Billy’s best friend Michael will be Harper Etienne, Dalton Jones, Theo Kamande and Oisin-Luca Pegg. Lola Cant, Paige Cook and Scarlett Gardener will share the role of Debbie.
Playing the Ballet Girls will be Vivien Abreu, Ivy-Rae Battams, Chloe Boyle, Mikeila Buljan-Bakotic, Rose Butler, Ella Collins, Willow Crabtree, Amari Dumbuya, Ava Evans, Daisy-Mae Ford, Kyla Fowles, Lux Hardy, Marian Nguema Ndjondjo, Zizha Nguema Ndjondjo, Jessica Pipe, Eva Ramtohul, Mia Raggio and Anabelle Tran.
They join the previously announced Noah Mannion, Rafferty Smale, Spencer Collins and William Gurney who share the role of Billy and Liam Mower who plays Older Billy.
Billy Elliot the Musical is brought to life by the creative team behind the film including Lee Hall who writes the book and lyrics, director Stephen Daldry and choreographer Peter Darling. They are joined by Elton John who composed the score. The creative team is completed by: Set Designer Ian MacNeil; Costume Designer Nicky Gillibrand; Lighting Designer Rick Fisher; Sound Designer Paul Arditti; Hair, Wig and Make Up Designer Campbell Young; Musical Supervisor and Orchestrator Martin Koch; Tour Director Simon Pollard; Associate Choreographer Jeroen Luiten; Adult Casting Director Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting; and Children’s Casting Director Nick Hockaday CDG for Jessica Ronane Casting.
The production will open at Sunderland Empire on 4th November 2026 where it will run until 28th November 2026. It will then play a festive season from 2nd December 2026 until 9th January 2027 at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, before a limited West End season from 12th February 2027 until 31st July 2027 at the Adelphi Theatre. The tour will then continue to Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin, the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, and Bristol Hippodrome.
