There’s a serious 1980s vibe from the preset in the intimate studio space tonight, with Miami vice-esque projections and some pure and classic leg warmer bangers to warm up nicely to.
From the start it is clear that you won’t find a more outrageously dynamic improv group. In their latest offering The Noise Next DoorpresentHometown Heroes.
These 3 quick witted actors (usually played as a 4) have been around for years and loyal stalwarts of this comedy troupe have followed their journey to The Edinburgh Festival and beyond. Using sharp and satirical quick fire wit they look comfortable, showing great skill in the art of improvisation and showmanship.
It is easy to see why they are one of the hottest tickets at the Fringe, playing out tonight in the packed out auditorium of the Godber Studio. The brilliantly and perceptive comic actors are clearly masters of their craft. Astute and terribly sharp, these guys demonstrate how their shows have stood the test of time. They work so hard to deliver the goods in each scene and, though perhaps not as an excitable audience as Edinburgh, they work with what they’ve got.
No spoilers here as each performance is different but what is played out this evening is a riotously funny, maddeningly bonkers and ingeniously constructed show.
The evening lives up to its title as Matt Grant, Tom Livingston and Sam Pacelli are clearly heroes of style, heroes of technique, heroes of comedy and guess what? They’re coming to a hometown near you. Take a well-deserved bow boys. You nailed it.
