The Donmar Warehouse has revealed its 2025/26 season, promising an exciting mix of new writing and reimagined classics for London theatre lovers. The season launches with the world premiere of Juniper Blood, a play by Mike Bartlett running from 16 August to 4 October. Directed by James Macdonald, the production features design by Ultz with associate set design by Mark Simmonds, lighting by Jo Joelson, and sound by Helen Skiera. The cast includes Terique Jarrett, Hattie Morahan, Nadia Parkes, Jonathan Slinger, and Sam Troughton. The story centres on a couple who leave behind city life for a dream of rural simplicity only for unexpected visitors to challenge everything they’re striving for.
Following this, the Donmar presents The Maids by Jean Genet, running from 13 October to 29 November in a new translation written and directed by Kip Williams. After his critically acclaimed adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray, Williams now takes on Genet’s dark tale of obsession and fantasy. Design credits include Rosanna Vize on set, Marg Horwell on costumes, Ian William Galloway on video, and Jon Clark on lighting.
Closing the season is Tim Sheader’s production of J B Priestley’s comedy When We Are Married, which runs from 6 December 2025 to 7 February 2026. Designed by Peter McKintosh with costumes by Anna Fleischle and lighting by Ryan Day, the play stars Siobhan Finneran, Samantha Spiro, Sophie Thompson and Marc Wootton. The story follows three couples whose silver wedding anniversary takes an unexpected turn when they discover their marriages may not have been legal after all unleashing long-held frustrations, secrets, and the possibility of new beginnings.
Donmar’s £20 ticket scheme for audiences aged 35 and under will continue for the season, along with an expanded Donmar LOCAL initiative, which engages thousands of young people in Camden and Westminster. Priority booking for Donmar supporters opens on 10 July, followed by public booking on 18 July.
