Cameron Mackintosh, in association with Michael Harrison, has announced that Miss Saigon will return to the West End for a strictly limited eight-month season at the Prince Edward Theatre, opening in May 2027. The engagement marks more than a decade since the musical was last seen in London and brings the production back to the same theatre where it previously enjoyed success.
The announcement follows the continued success of the new production’s sell-out UK and Ireland tour, now booking through to August 2026, with additional return dates in Manchester and Birmingham added due to strong demand.
Commenting on the show’s enduring impact, Mackintosh said the latest production highlights the musical’s ongoing relevance by refocusing on its “gritty 1970s dramatic and musical roots,” while retaining its epic scale and emotional power. He added that, 50 years on from the Fall of Saigon, the story’s themes of love, survival and conflict remain as poignant as ever.
Set during the final days of the Vietnam War, Miss Saigon tells the story of Kim, a 17-year-old woman forced to work in a Saigon bar, who falls in love with an American GI. The score includes iconic songs such as The Heat Is On in Saigon, The Movie in My Mind, Last Night of the World and The American Dream.
Tickets for the West End run will go on sale in March 2026, with full casting and performance details to be announced.
