Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the beloved film, The Full Monty returns to the stage for a major UK tour.
The play tells the story of an ordinary group of men striving to reclaim their dignity and pride. Gaz and his mates find themselves down on their luck, cast aside and underestimated – but determined to fight back, even if it means revealing more than they ever imagined. The production, echoing the smash-hit film, delivers a rollercoaster of laughter and heartbreak as audiences are invited to relive the iconic music of the 90s cheering on this unforgettable group of lads as they prepare to put on the show of their lives.
This tour is produced by Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre and Buxton Opera House, in association with Mark Goucher and David Pugh, and initial casting has been announced alongside the creative team.
The 2027 UK tour of The Full Monty, which is written by Simon Beaufoy, will be directed by Michael Gyngell. The show will have choreography and intimacy direction by Ian West, set and costume design by Jasmine Swan, lighting design by Andrew Exeter and sound design by Chris Whybrow. The Resident Director will be Rachel Heyburn, the Casting Director is Marc Frankum and the Children’s Casting Director is Carolan Copley-Tucci.
Strictly Come Dancing star Kevin Clifton will lead the cast Gaz, fresh from his stint as in Priscilla Queen of the Desert. He will be joined by Stewart Wright as Dave, James Gaddas as Gerald, Ben Onwukwe as Horse, Jon-Paul Bell as Guy and Zrey Sholapurkar as Lomper. Further casting is still to be announced.
