This festive season, a magical production of Stick Man, based on the beloved book by Julia Donaldson with illustrations by Axel Scheffler, takes root at Leeds Playhouse’s Courtyard Theatre from 6th December to 4th January.
The wonderful world created by Donaldson and Scheffler will be brought to life by Sam Makepeace-Beach as Stick Man and Maya Bassi Curtis as Stick Lady Love. They will be joined by Jack Ward as actor/musician and Hannah Baker who will be a swing on the production.
Stick Man has become a much-loved festive tradition, enchanting audiences in London and across the UK for more than a decade. This acclaimed production comes from Freckle Productions, the team behind Zog, The Baddies and Zog and the Flying Doctors and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves.
The creative team includes original director Sally Cookson, director Mark Kane, composer Benji Bower, musical director Brian Hargreaves, assistant director Emily Pollet, designer Katie Sykes, lighting designer Eleanor Higgins, production manager Suzie Normand and costume supervisor Louise Smith.
Stick Man opens at the Courtyard Theatre at Leeds Playhouse on 6th December and runs until 4th January. Aimed at ages 3 and up, tickets can be bought online or over the phone from Leeds Playhouse’s box office.
