ED FRINGE: I Wish My Life Were Like a Musical – Gilded Balloon Patter Hoose, Edinburgh

Reviewer: Kia Lawrence

Writer: Alexander S. Bermange

Director: Joanna Goodwin

Alexander S. Bermange musical is a clever, witty, comical show that brings all things post-drama school into a tightly and perfectly formed hour-long musical revue.

Performed by four recent drama school graduates, it is a belly-laughing perfect portrayal of the musical theatre industry. Following the process of auditioning, dealing with divas and the joys of being an understudy. It’s the perfect show for anyone who has ever experienced the industry or those who are still involved.

Luke Harley, Hannah Taylor, Harry Winchester and Alice Ellen Wright put on a seamless performance that is faultless, ensuring you leave with aching cheeks and a warm glow inside. If ever there was a production that embodies the industry – I Wish My Life Were Like A Musical is such a production. One hopes that the show manages to find a home in the West End as it deserves to be seen!

Runs until August 28, 2022
