At the Barbican in York, the young audience quite evidently had the time of their lives. From the first countdown to the final shower of confetti, there were smiles, laughter and wide-eyed wonder throughout the auditorium. Parents and carers, meanwhile, are likely to appreciate a well-organised, high-quality show that delivers exactly what it promises: a lively, inclusive and thoroughly enjoyable outing. It may not reinvent the genre, but it offers a reliably entertaining, morning-long celebration that fits perfectly into the school holidays.
