Hadestown, the smash-hit Broadway and West End musical by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin has announced its first UK tour.
Hadestown takes audiences on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back, intertwining two ancient Greek mythic love stories – that of young lovers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone.
The musical is the winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. The musical has been seen by more than six million people and streamed by nearly a billion listeners.
The deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience invites audiences to imagine how the world could be.
The touring production of Hadestown will open at Leicester’s Curve on 19th February 2027 where it will run until 6th March 2027, before visiting The Lowry, Leeds Grand Theatre, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Birmingham Hippodrome, Milton Keynes Theatre, The Mayflower, Norwich Theatre Royal, the Marlowe Theatre, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Glasgow King’s Theatre, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Aberdeen His Majesty’s Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre, Liverpool Empire, Dublin (venue TBA), Belfast Grand Opera House, Sheffield Lyceum, Hull New Theatre, Plymouth Theatre Royal, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, Chester Storyhouse and Sunderland Empire.
