The cast has been announced for the upcoming touring production of Calendar Girls the Musical. The much-loved show about a group of Yorkshire women who create a fundraising calendar after the death of one of their husbands is by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth, based on the play written by Firth and the film of the same name written by Firth and Juliette Towhidi.
The true story of the Calendar Girls launched a global phenomenon, a million copycat calendars, a record-breaking movie, a West End play and now an awarding-winning musical.
This new touring production is a co-production between Stephen Joseph Theatre, Theatre by the Lake, New Wolsey Theatre and Octagon Theatre.
The cast will be led by Karen Holmes as Chris and Christina Meehan as Annie. They will be joined by Angela Caesar, Pippa Duffy, Sarah Groarke, Rachel Hammond, Matt Heslop, Matt Ian Kelly, Annie Kirkman, Alicia McKenzie, Neil Moor and Fenella Norman.
This production is directed by Paul Robinson, Stephen Joseph Theatre’s Artistic Director. Joining him in the creative team are set and costume designer Helen Coyston, musical director and associate director Alex Weatherhill, choreographer and intimacy director Stephanie Dattani, lighting designer Jane Lalljee, sound designer Simon Slater and casting director Annelie Powell CDG CSA.
Calendar Girls the Musical opens at Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough on 27th June 2026 where it runs until 25th July 2026, before travelling to Theatre by the Lake in Keswick (6th August to 5th September), New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich (10th to 26th September) and Octagon Theatre in Bolton (6th to 31st October).
