Off the Ground Theatre celebrates its 30th anniversary this summer with a bold new outdoor production of Treasure Island, touring venues across the North West, Wales and Ireland. Founded in 1994 and based on the Wirral, the company has spent three decades bringing vibrant, adventurous theatre to audiences across the UK and Europe.
Adapted by OTG regular Connor Wray and co-directed by founder Dan Meigh alongside Mat Oliphant, this new take on Treasure Island taps into the original novel’s spirit of deception, danger and excitement—while drawing clever parallels with modern influencer culture. It follows young Jim Hawkins and his mother on a treasure hunt that throws them into the orbit of the unforgettable Long John Silver.
The cast features both seasoned performers and graduates of OTG’s youth theatre programme, including Eve Griffiths and Rafe Cogley. True to form, the company continues to champion emerging talent, and remains committed to making live performance accessible to younger generations.
Tickets are now available for all UK and Ireland venues, inviting audiences to grab a picnic and join the party for this milestone year
