NEWS: This is the moment as cast of Miss Saigon announced

Miss SaigonFollowing an extensive worldwide search for the perfect cast to star in the new London production of Miss Saigon which opens at the Prince Edward Theatre in May 2014.Cameron Mackintosh has revealed the leading cast for his brand new production which will be directed by Laurence Connor (who also directed the 25th Anniversary productions of Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera.)

Set in 1975 during the final days of the American occupation of Saigon, Miss Saigon is an epic love story about the relationship between an American GI and a young Vietnamese woman. Kim is working in a sleazy Saigon night club owned by a notorious wheeler-dealer known as ‘The Engineer’. John, an American GI, buys his friend Chris the services of Kim for the night. That night will change their lives forever.

In the lead rôle of Kim will be newcomer Eva Noblezada where she will make her professional stage debut. An alumnus of The National High School Musical Theater Awards in America – you can watch her perform in this incredible performance of With You from Ghost.

Joining alongside her in the rôle of Chris will be Alistair Brammer who made his professional stage debut as ‘Marius’ in the West End production of Les Misérables at the Queen’s Theatre after being scouted by Cameron himself when he performed the rôle at age 16 in a school production of the show. Following his appearance in the West End, Alistair starred alongside Hugh Jackman in the movie version of the show, he is currently in the West End cast of the National Theatre’s production of War Horse.

Having been originally cast as an ensemble member of the original production alongside Jonathan Pryce and subsequently playing the rôle of the Engineer around the world including the last UK tour Jon Jon Briones reprises the rôle which he so iconically made his own.

Last seen in Cameron Mackintosh’s recent revival of Barnum at Chichester Festival Theatre and the Australian production of Oliver, Tamsin Carroll will take on the rôle of Chris’ American wife Ellen, where she will also be the first actress to sing the new song for the character ‘Maybe’ which will appear in the second act.

Lead singer of The Tenors of Rock John Maynard will return to play John – the rôle he created in the 1st and 2nd UK tour of the show and double platinum Philippine pop star Rachelle Ann Go will take on the rôle of showgirl GiGi.The ensemble includes; Julia Abueva, Natalie Chua, Jon-Scott Clark, Rob Compton, CallumFrancis, Ashley Gilmour, Maria Graciano, Simon Hardwick, Jack Harrison-Cooper, MatthewJeans, Kurt Kansley, Kittiphun Kittipakapom, David Lee, Mitch Leow, Ela Lisondra, TanyaManalang, Christian Rey Marbella, Kanako Nakano, Thao Therese Nguyen, Saori Oda, ArielReonal, Jon Reynolds, Romeo Salazar, Jordan Shaw, Marsha Songcome, Eloisa Amalia Tan,Christian Tanamal, Thao Vilayvong, Amadeus Williams and Gerald Zarcilla.

Miss Saigon has Music by Claude-Michel Schönberg with Lyrics by Richard Maltby Jnr and Alain Boublil, adapted from Original French Lyrics by Alain Boublil with Additional Lyrics by Michael Malher. This new production will be directed by Laurence Connor with Musical Staging by Bob Avian and Additional Choreography by Geoffrey Garratt, Production Design by Totie Driver and Matt Kinley
