The creative team behind Memphis will be staging the European Premiere of The Toxic Avenger at Southwark Playhouse this Spring, produced by Aria Entertainment
The Toxic Avenger has a book by Joe DiPietro and music by David Bryan and tells the tale of Toxie,a seven-foot mutant freak with superhuman strength and a supersized heart to match. He’s out to save New Jersey, end global warming, woo the prettiest (blindest) librarian in town and get home in time for dinner, in this toxic love story with an environmental twist.
For writer Joe DiPietro, the London date is ideal.“The Toxic Avenger is a modern, musical superhero and the world leader in the fight against pollution, corruption and evil politicians. So how brilliant that he’s finally going where he’s needed most: London.”
The Toxic Avenger will also mark the introduction of allocated seating to Southwark Playhouse in The Large space. Patrons can pick their seats online or will be given best available seats when booking over the phone. Seating in The Little space remains unreserved.
The Toxic Avenger will run at Southwark Playhouse Friday 22 April – Saturday 21 May 2016
