Southwold and Aldeburgh Summer Theatre have announced details of their 2014 summer season.
A long established part of the Suffolk coastal theatre scene, the company produces an annual season of plays in Southwold’s St Edmund’s Hall and The Jubilee Hall, Aldeburgh.
The 2014 season kicks off on 9th July with Taking Steps from the country’s most prolific playwright, Alan Ayckbourn. Following its run in Southwold, Taking Steps will then transfer down the coast, opening Aldeburgh’s Season on 24th July.
Comedy features strongly in the season, with Michael Frayn’s hilarious ode to backstage life, Noises Off, playing both venues in August.
The madcap comedy continues with Charles Marowitz’s comedy-thriller Sherlock’s Last Case while those seeking a more traditional thriller can chose between Ira Levin’s Deathtrap or William Dinner &William Morum’s The Late Edwina Black.
