Marking its return to producing theatre the Oxford Playhouse has joined forces with Newcastle-Under-Lyme’s New Vic Theatre to present the World Premiere of Peter Pan in Scarlett which will play at both houses over the summer.
Peter Pan in Scarlett is the best selling official sequel to J.M Barrie’s original Peter Pan/ The book is written by Carnegie Medal and three times Whitbread Children’s Book Award winner Geraldine McCaughrean. The story is set in 1929 and Wendy and the Lost Boys have all grown up. Having seen signs that Peter Pan is in trouble Wendy and the Lost Boys venture back to Neverland for one last swash-buckling adventure.
Peter Pan in Scarlett will be adapted and directed by the New Vic’s artistic director Theresa Heskins and will be joined by Aerial Director, Vicki Amedume, Artistic Director of circus theatre company Upswing, composer and Musical Director, James Atherton and designer Liz Cooke.
Casting for the production is yet to be announced.
Peter Pan in Scarlett will play The New Vic Theatre (25 July – 6 August) and then Oxford Playhouse (12 August – 4 Spetember 2016)
