NEWS: Merrily We Roll Along to transfer to West End’s Harold Pinter Theatre

Following a sell-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Merrily We Roll Alongby Stephen Sondheim and George Furth is to transfer to the West End’s Harold PinterTheatre for 12 weeks only.

Having won the Critics’ Circle Award for Best Musical for 2012 – the fringe production of the Sondheim/Furthmusical,directed by Maria Friedman, will begin previews on 23 April. It will open 1 May for a strictly limited 12-week season.

Set over three decades, Merrily We Roll Alongcharts the turbulent relationship between three friends Franklin, Mary and Charley. Starting in 1980 and travelling backwards in time, it features some of Sondheim’s best known and loved songs includingGood Thing Going, Not a Day Goes By and Old Friends.

The Menier cast includingMark Umbers,Jenna RussellandDamian Humbley,as Franklin Shepard, Mary Flynn and Charley Kringas respectively will reprise their rôles.
