Eight years after setting up base at The Cut in Halesworth, HighTide have announced that the 2015 HighTide Festival will move across Suffolk to a new home in Aldeburgh. The Festival will also move from its usual spring dates to run in Aldeburgh from September 10th – 20th 2015.
Aldeburgh is already known for it’s world-renowned Aldeburgh Music Festival and its links with Benjamin Britten but this will be a new move for the seaside town.
For HighTide Artistic Director Steven Atkinson, the move to Aldeburgh offers real potential. “Halesworth gave us the opportunity to build up both work and audiences and we look forward to sustaining those relationships in the seaside town of Aldeburgh, famous across the world for its arts festivals, while working with new venues and partners to support the ongoing development of the Festival.”
Full details of the line-up for the 2015 HighTide Festival will be announced in the New Year but organisers will continue their collaboration with Soho Theatre, who will be programming a comedy strand to the 2015 festival.
HighTide will also be expanding its work with local young people and local schools as well as running a series of writers workshops prior to the festival across the country.
