Physical Theatre exponents Frantic Assembly has announced details of the UK premiere of Andrew Bovell’s Things I Know To Be True in an international co-production with State Theatre Company of South Australia.
The production will receive its UK premiere at the Lyric Hammersmith on 10th September 2016. Written by leading Australian writer Andrew Bovell, Things I Know To Be True will enjoy its world premiere in Adelaide in May 2016, before being recreated for a UK tour later in the year.
Co-directed by Frantic Assembly’s Artistic Director, Scott Graham, and State Theatre Company’s Artistic Director, Geordie Brookman, Things I Know To Be True will be recreated for the UK, with a UK cast, as State Theatre Company enters into its first ever international co-production.
Things I Know To Be True tells the story of a family and marriage through the eyes of four grown siblings struggling to define themselves beyond their parents’ love and expectations.
Following its run at the Lyric Hammersmith, Things I Know To Be True will embark on a tour of the UK including Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool, Manchester and Chichester.
For Graham, the chance to work with State Theatre Company is thrilling. “I am so excited about collaborating with Geordie Brookman on Andrew Bovell’s beautiful work. The prospect of what weand this fantastic creative team can make together is absolutely thrilling.”
The cumulation of years of conversation is something Brookman is delighted with. “Frantic Assembly is an incredibly exciting company, at the cutting edge of theatre-making, and I’m thrilled that State Theatre Company’s London debut will come in partnership with them on Andrew Bovell’s beautiful play.”
