As rehearsals begin for Sir Trevor Nunn’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Ipswich’s New Wolsey Theatre, full casting has been announced.
Nunn returns to his hometown to complete his catalogue of directing all 37 Shakespeare plays, completing his collection with the one play he has yet to direct.
Leading the company as Oberon and Titania will be West End musical star Matt Rawle and Fiona Hampton, who appeared in the film Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Further casting includesKulvinder Ghir as Bottom (Bend It Like BeckhamandGoodness Gracious Me),Harmage Singh Kalirai as Peter Quince (The Winter’s Tale and for Guildford Shakespeare Company, Antony and Cleopatra); Deven Modha, Saikat Ahamed, Minal Patel and Muzz Khan.
Also cast are Neerja Naik as Hermia,Assad Zaman as Demetrius, Harry Lister Smith as Lysander and Imogen Daines as Helena, whose most recent theatre appearance includes War of the Roses directed by Nunn at the Rose Theatre Kingston.
Completing the cast are Sam Dastor,Michelle BishopandEsh Alladi.
