NEWS: Cast announced for West End Transfer of Menier’s Merrily

Merrily we Roll Along - West EndThe cast have been officially announced for the critically acclaimed West End transfer of the Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of Merrily We Roll Along.

Directed by triple Olivier Award winner Maria Friedman, Stephen Sondheim’s musical will play a strictly limited 12 week season at The Harold Pinter Theatre from Tuesday 23rd April.

Mark Umbers, Jenna Russel and Damian Humbly reprise their rôles as Franklin Shepard, Mary Flynn and Charley Kringas. Merrily We Roll Along is Set over three decades in the entertainment business, charting the turbulent relationship between three friends Franklin, Charley and Mary. Starting in 1980 and travelling backwards in time, this powerful and moving story features some of Sondheim’s most beautiful songs including Good Thing Going, Not a Day Goes By and Old Friends.

Joining the cast will be Josefina Gabrielle as Gussie Carnegie, Clare Foster as Beth and Glyn Kerslake as Joe Josephson. Completing the cast are; Matthew Barrow, Martin Callaghan, Bob Harms, Julie Jupp, Elana Martin, Amanda Minihan, Kirk Patterson, Amy Ellen Richardson, Ashley Robinson, Robbie Scotcher, Zizi Strallen and Joanna Woodward. Noah Miller as the ensemble with Tommy Rodger and Joseph West alternate the rôle of Frank Jnr.

Merrily We Roll Along follows a string of hits from the Southwark based theatre to transfer to the West End including fellow Sondheim productions Sunday in the Park With George and A Little Night Music.

Audiences will be able to see this productions for as little as £25 thanks to the the Menier’s dynamic pricing policy. 100 seats in the stalls and dress circle (we have been informed these will be restricted view seats) will be on sale for every performance.

The production is presented in the West End by Chocolate Factory Productions, Neal Street Productions, Sonia Friedman Productions, Bob Bartner &Norman Tulchin, Debbie Bisno, Scott M. Delman, Just for Laughs Theatricals and Tanya Link.
