Brighton Fringe had already got off to a promising start, with the announcement that advance ticket sales had increased by 40% on the same period last year. Organisers, however, were determined to get this year’s festival off to a flying start, with the Fringe’s first ever firework display being launched from the roof of St Peter’s Church Brighton.
As crowds gathered at The Warren and around St Peter’s, Brighton Fringe’s Managing Director, Julian Caddy, welcomed festival-goersand led a countdown for the display.
It is rare to be able to see fireworks at such close proximity, but planners had worked for months to ensure the festival got off to a spectacular start, with a thrilling display shot above the heads of the spectators.
We captured the opening minute of the display to give you a taster of the excitement…
