NEWS: Book Of Mormon Casting Confirmed

Producers have announced casting for the London production of Broadway hit musical The Book Of Mormon.

Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner will lead the company as Elder Price and Elder Cunningham. Creel and Price are currently leading the Los Angeles production, where the show has broken all box office records.

The Book of Mormon begins previewing at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London on 25th February.

Creel was recently seen in the West End as Claude in Hair at the Gielgud Theatre and received Tony Award® nominations for his rôles in the Broadway productions of Hair and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Gertner makes his West End debut in The Book of Mormon. A member of the original Tony Award®-winning Broadway company, he has previously been seen on stage in Spelling Bee at the Circle in the Square Theatre and in Ordinary Days at the Roundabout Theatre. Gertner has also appeared in TV show such as Ugly Betty and The Good Wife.

Other casting, announced today, includes: Mark Anderson, Stephen Ashfield, Benjamin Brook, Daniel Buckley, Daniel Clift, Ashley Day, Terry Doe, Candace Furbert, Patrick George, Nadine Higgin, Tyrone Huntley, Evan James, Chris Jarman, Michael Kent, Alexia Khadime, Matt Krzan, Oliver Liddert, Daniel McKinley, Luke Newton, Terel Nugent, Haydn Oakley, Olivia Phillip, Lucy St. Louis, Giles Terera, Kayi Ushe, Tosh Wanogho-Maud and Liam Wrate.

The Book of Mormon comes from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Avenue Q co-creator Robert Lopez. The musical won nine Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, and the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre album and follows a pair of Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that’s a long way from Salt Lake City.
