NEWS: Altar Boyz gets UK premiere at Greenwich

Off-Broadway hit musical Altar Boyz will make its UK Premiere at Greenwich Theatre this October.

Having run for five years and over 2,000 performances off-Broadway, Altar Boyz will run for just 14 performances in Greenwich from October 3.

Following a fictitious boy-band on the last night of their Raise the Praise tour, a smash hit of the bingo hall circuit. Now the offer of stardom in the Big Apple beckons…

Altar Boyz will be directed bySteven Dexter, whose credits includeLoservillein the West End and the World premiere of Stiles and Drewe’sHonk!at the Watermill Theatre.

Altar Boyz will be produced by Paul Taylor-Mills who recently produced In The Heightsat Southwark Playhouse. For Taylor-Mills Altar Boyz is a project he has been working on for some time. “I have been trying to secure a life forAltar Boyz for several years and am thrilled to be presenting it with one of the UK’s most accomplished directors of new musicals, Steven Dexter. He is so wonderfully imaginative and I’m thrilled with the cast he has assembled, to be announced soon”.

Altar Boyzhas Book by Kevin Del Aguila, and Music and Lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker. It is conceived by Marc Kessler &Ken Davenport, and ispresented by arrangement with R&H Theatricals Europe.
