Colchester’s Mercury Theatre have announced an all-star ensemble cast for Michael Frayn’s classic comedy Noises Off, which plays at the Essex venue this May as the second production in their Made in Colchester 2015 season.
Directed by the Mercury’s Artistic Director Daniel Buckroyd, Noises Off is the classic theatrical farce, allowing audiences to see what really goes on behind the scenes! Buckroyd has assembled an ensemble cast that features many faces familiar to TV viewers.
Former Doctor Who companion Louise Jameson will be taking on the rôle of forgetful Dotty Otley. Alongside Doctor Who, Jameson is also known for playing Rosa Di Marco in EastEnders and has most recently been seen in Channel 4’s Toast of London.
TV fans will also recognise Peter Ellis who plays whisky-fuelled Selsdon. Ellis played Chief Supt. Brownlow in The Bill for 28 years. Continuing the TV theme Hollyoaks Sarah Jayne Dunn and Louis Tamone also join the cast alongside Four Weddings and A Funeral star Sara Crowe. Completing the cast are David Shelley, Hywel Simons, Dan Cohen and Louise Kempton.
Noises Off will play at the Mercury Theatre from Friday, May 1 until Saturday, May 16.
