FIVE FAST FRINGE QUESTIONS with…Mark Dolan on Life Hacks

With over 3000 shows at the world’s biggest arts festival, here at The ReviewsHub,we want to make the job of choosing your Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows that little bit easier. So here’s Mark Dolan answering our annual Five Fast Fringe Questions on Life Hacks.

In one sentence tell us about your show.

There are no big promises here, except that this show will make you laugh, change your life and bring out your hair’s natural shine.

What made you decide to bring a show this year?

Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities in the world and I spent four happy years there as a student. Any excuse to go back. Also, the chance to perform an hour-long show every day for a whole month at the greatest arts festival in the world is something we can file under no-brainer.

Any advice you’ve heard or can give to anyone coming to the Fringe for the first time?

Keep a bottle of water with you, the venues are hotter than the surface of the sun and try to see at least one person you have never heard of while up there. Oh and watch one piece of theatre too, comedy dominates, but there is some incredible drama happening every year too.

What makes your show stand out from all of the others on offer? (Don’t say that it’s because you’re in it!)

I’ve never worked so hard on a show, there’s an amazing amount of embarrassing and true stuff about me in there and finally, there is a glittering prize for best audience contribution at the end. What’s not to like. And I can guarantee no nudityor singing.

What show, other than your own, do you not want to miss?

I never miss Tim Fitzhigham.

Finally, the boring but essential bit…
