FIVE FAST FRINGE QUESTIONS WITH… Johnny Cochrane

With over 3000 shows at the world’s biggest arts festival, here at The ReviewsHub,we want to make the job of choosing your Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows that little bit easier. So here’s Johnny Cochrane answering our annual Five Fast Fringe Questions.

In one sentence tell us about your show.

I’ve worked out the formula for great Edinburgh shows! I know the secret and the checkpoints that you need to make sure you have a hit debut hour! This show is my guide.

What made you decide to bring a show this year?

I’ve been performing comedy for a while and I haven’t yet done a full Edinburgh show, so I felt like I really needed to. I wanted to show everyone else – as well as myself – what I was capable of my developing something really ambitious.

Any advice you’ve heard or can give to anyone coming to the Fringe for the first time?

Try to get some sleep. A lot of people don’t realise the physical exertions needed to get through a full run at Edinburgh. It’s tempting to go out and see lots of things and have fun at Edinburgh, but be kind to your body otherwise you’ll need to be hooked up to you via IV drip of Berocca by the end of the run just to get through the day.

What makes your show stand out from all of the others on offer? (Don’t say that it’s because you’re in it!)

I think I’ve got a good mix of straight stand up, audience interaction, VT’s and I’m in it! Oh sorry forgot I wasn’t allowed to say that. But seriously I think my show will be unique in the Edinburgh landscape and I certainly can guarantee audiences won’t be bored during their hour with me.

What show, other than your own, do you not want to miss?

I’m really excited to see Bill Burr when he’s there. He’s probably my favourite comic so I excited to see what he has in store. I’m also keen to watch what Spencer Jones has in store for us, his show last year was fantastic. He’s a great comic and a nice bloke, also, Sophie Willan’s debut hour promises to be fantastic as well as Kate Lucas’ debut show – I’ve seen snippets of both and they’re hilarious.

Finally, the boring but essential bit…
