It’s that time of year when we launch our annual series of Fringe preview Q & A’s. From Bogota, the company of Circolombia talk about their show Acéléré.
In one sentence tell us about your show.
One sentence…It’s a fearless circus concert with infectious energy, yes, guts grace and gusto direct from Bogota.
What made you decide to bring the show to the Fringe this year?
It’s the first time at the Fringe with this show. Last time worked really well for Circolombia’s Intimo at the main Assembly Hall, and Underbelly wanted our new show, so riding the back of our summer tour we’re a coming to Edinburgh – risk it for a biscuit.
Any advice you’ve heard or can give to anyone coming to the Fringe for the first time?
Get lots of sleep beforehand, put into practise the art of meditation, as it’s a Japanese style performance marathon.
What makes your show stand out from all of the others on offer? (Don’t say that it’s because you’re in it!)
Infectious energy – the artists are not ‘playing’ on stage, they live, breath and sweat on it.
What show, other than your own, do you not want to miss?
Last year I was really moved by Finding Joy, so I’ll wait with bated breath until we find what’s brilliant and out of the blue.
Finally, the boring but essential bit…
