With over 3000 shows at the world’s biggest arts festival, here at The ReviewsHub,we want to make the job of choosing your Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows that little bit easier. So here’s Alex Kealy answering our annual Five Fast Fringe Questions.
In one sentence tell us about your show.
Sex-starved politics nerd Alex Kealy bangs on about politics and sex for 55 minutes (plus Powerpoint).
What made you decide to bring a show this year?
I wanted to do a political comedy show about bonkers American politics this election year. Then, in late June, the UK really undermined that by doing something far crazier. Luckily, it’s improved my show if not the pound, Britain’s standing in the world or co-ordinated anti-climate change initiatives.
Any advice you’ve heard or can give to anyone coming to the Fringe for the first time?
If at any point you’re finding the Fringe overwhelming, there’s a button on Greyfriar’s Bobby that returns Edinburgh to factory settings.
What makes your show stand out from all of the others on offer? (Don’t say that it’s because you’re in it!)
The end is pretty strong but to tell you more would be to spoil. Also, I’d written my show before becoming addicted to Pokémon Go so we’re all good there.
What show, other than your own, do you not want to miss?
Every Brilliant Thing, partly because I missed it last year and heard so much about it.
Finally, the boring but essential bit…
