With time being precious during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe we challenged this year’s acts to deliver a 50-word elevator pitch for their show. This time it’s the turn of Awakening.
“Happy Birthday Cassie… You’re a fucking idiot.” It’s the morning of Cassie’s twenty-sixth. She wakes to find herself in someone’s front garden with no recollection of getting there. Awakening is a fierce, funny, painfully honest portrayal of loss, young adulthood and the perils of casual dating.
What other show shouldn’t we miss?
I’m really looking forward to seeing Witt N Camp: Swag at Assembly George Square Studio 5. A show exploring female identity whilst bending genre rules. Sounds ace.
