13-Henrietta-Street-842x460Anu Productions have excited, impacted and exposed their audience to a medley of wonderful, thought provoking and unique work over the course of 2013’s Dublin Fringe Festival. Their final production of the ‘13’ series culminated with Assembly and it proved to be the perfect end to a wonderful season.

This performance unites all of the participants of the series with their audience in a wonderfully intimate reassertion of the themes of the project. With various performers reading out a lengthy speech underneath vivid and provocative projections the audience gives them their undivided attention for one last time.

Provided with wrist bands upon entering this production, the audience members are urged to find their matching pair among the audience and to discuss the statements written on the inside of their wristbands. These are the final questions that linger in the air as the crowd begins to dissipate and there is an energy in the air that makes it feel as if it isn’t really over.

The speech itself is intelligently and succinctly presented by all involved and the platform created by their given characters throughout the series adds an additional layer of meaning to their words.

Assembly is much more than just a well-planned finale, it brings together a community of people who have gotten to know the characters, and each other through their dedication and perseverance throughout the series. There is a sense of willingness and strength among the audience and it is clear from the conversations heard all around The Art Park, that Anu have made friends for life.

This was truly a perfect ending to what has been a wonderful journey with Anu Productions and their extraordinary team.

How did you begin? Where did you stand?
