CD REVIEW – Molly Wobbly’s Tit Factory

Producer: Sim G Productions

[Rating: 3.5]

A new exciting Musical entitled Molly Wobbly’s Tit Factory has been released on the independent label devoted to new writers and artists, SimG Records.

Molly Wobbly’s Tit Factory written and directed by Paul Boyd, is centred around three ordinary couples that reside on the mundane and predictable Mammary Lane. However the peace is suddenly tested when the local church is bought by a mysterious stranger named “Ithankyou”. Who comes to the town of Little Happening and starts causing mayhem with a special potion that was invented by self entitled Molly Wobbly who raised “Ithankyou”. The potion removes Little Happenings residents of all inhibitions and hypnotises the women and men to have more confidence in their appearance, much to the annoyance of each other.

This new musical features an original cast of Christopher Finn, Orla Gormley, Tara Flynn, Kevin Hynes, Russell Morton, Conleth Kane, Tommy Wallace and Olivier winner Leanne Jones. Molly Wobbly’s Tit Factory is produced by Simon Greiff for SimG Records

This 20 track CD includes an array of different styles of catchy songs of upbeat and slow tempos. The album opens with a brilliant prologue, where the story is established with an apt lyric of a “Stranger Is In Town”. Other good songs include the ballad “Catholic Girl” and the fast paced flash back school song “Little Happening High”, and an eerie ballad “One Day Without Her” and the brilliantly catchy “Trust Yourself To Me”, where you cannot help but sing along to its piano beat. The cast are all good singers and perform the songs well especially individually, as the characters in particular shine through the music via the various accents performed.

I would make one suggestion that children under 13 years do not listen to this as it does contain content of a sexual nature, which could be uncomfortable for some listeners.

This 2012 recording is comical, musical and consistent to the genre of musical theatre. Good music, good lyrics, it has a bizarre but humorous storyline but it will certainly put a smile on your face. Titillating and enjoyable!

All royalties from sales of this album will be donated to The Terrence Higgins Trust charity.
