Theatre by the Lake and Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch have revealed the cast and creative team for their exciting co-production of Di and Viv and Rose by Amelia Bullmore, directed by Fay Lomas. Opening in September at Theatre by the Lake, this sharply funny and heartfelt play explores the trials and triumphs of three women as they journey through friendship, ambition, and loss over thirty unforgettable years.
Audiences will be treated to performances from Sally Hodgkiss as Di, Amelia Donkor as Viv, and Olivia Sweeney as Rose, returning to the Keswick venue after her role in The Secret Garden. The production is steeped in the pop culture and music of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, capturing the essence of growing up and growing older with the people who shape our lives.
Director Fay Lomas brings a fresh vision to Bullmore’s acclaimed play, which originally sold out at Hampstead Theatre and enjoyed a successful West End transfer. Lomas said she was thrilled to lead such a talented team, describing the play as a moving and humorous tribute to enduring friendship and the passing of time.
The creative team includes Hannah Sibai as Designer, Lex Kosanke on composition and sound, Lighting Designer Jessie Addinall, and Movement Director Georgina Makhubele.
Julia Samuels, TBTL’s Artistic Director (Maternity Cover), said the production is a perfect fit for the theatre’s ambition to present bold and emotionally rich work, and she is confident that local audiences will embrace it wholeheartedly
