Our Brighton Bites series offers short, witty and slightly tongue-in-cheek insights into the offerings at England’s largest arts festival. Direct from Madrid, Madame Señorita shares details of her show ¿Who Are Tú?, performing at The Marlborough, Brighton.
How would you describe your show in one sentence?
The aberrant experience that makes simple human beings become powerful, rare, happy creatures.
Is this your first visit to Brighton Fringe, if so what interesting tales have you been told about what to expect?
It is my first time at Brighton Fringe as a performer, but I have been a visitor as an audience member for the last two years. I am sure I can expect to meet a lot fun people to have a pint with, and a lot of talented performers that will inspire me.
How has the show developed on the way to Brighton?
Thie show has now larger breasts, some hair all over, a bit of a moustache… and I think it might be pregnant with another show, so yeah, I think it has developed a lot!
How have you been preparing for Brighton Fringe?
I have done lots of Yoga. And take part at Cabaret nights. And practise my English in Madrid as a Tapas Tour guide for English and American Tourists! As a tapas expert, I promise I ́ll give you a Spanish Omelette “pincho” if you come to my show! First come, first served!
What do you think sets your show apart from all the other festival offerings?
It has been created by me. And no one else in Brighton is me! (Maybe in Spain someone else could be me?, I am not sure if this is possible… Oh my… could this ever happen? Smoke is coming out of my head The mysteries of life!)
What’s the show that you don’t want to miss at this year’s Brighton Fringe (apart from your own!)?
Neil Frost’s The Story of a Nervous
If your show was a flavour of Brighton Rock, what would it be?
The HUMBUG. I don ́t know what it means but I know it exists, I googled it! I think is the Black and white one? Please could you bring one with you if you come to my show, so I can try it?
Sweet. Cheers mate! (my English is so good)
