Here, LynchPin Productions Theatre Company tells us about their show,You Give Me Fever – the Phaedra Cabaret, which they’ll be performing atBar Broadway Lounge.
How would you describe your show in one sentence?
A classy retelling of a classic Greek myth laced with cocktails and jazz standards – tragedy with a twist.
Why Brighton Fringe for this show?
Brighton Fringe has always embraced new works and jazz and cocktails – makes it the perfect place for the premiere of our tasty tragedy.
How have you been preparing for Brighton Fringe?
Lots of research of all things Greek – especially things with Ouzo, Metaxa and a slice of lime.
What do you think sets your show apart from all the other festival offerings?
Who else is offering tragedy, jazz and cocktails? Tragic cocktails? Jazzy tragedy? Say that ten times fast.
What’s the show that you don’t want to miss at this year’s Brighton Fringe (apart from your own)?
According to Angelica – another retelling of a tragic tale – R&J from the nurse’s POV.
What’s the best bit of advice you’ve ever been given for performing at a Fringe Festival?
Just write the d*@& thing and DO IT!
If your show was a flavour of ice cream being sold on Brighton Pier, what would it be?
Rum Raisin laced with nightshade.
