Back by popular demand for 2017, our Brighton Bites series offer short, witty and slightly tongue-in-cheek insights into shows performing at England’s largest arts festival. Hopefully, they will whet your appetite to try something new at this year’s Brighton Fringe.
Here, Honky Bonk Theatre tells us about their show, The Establishment: Eton Mess, which they’ll be performing at The Warren.
How would you describe your show in one sentence?
Combining the best of clowning, quick wit and British stiffed lipped eccentricity with a satirical edge.
Why Brighton Fringe for this show?
Because we love Brighton. (honestly!)
How have you been preparing for Brighton Fringe?
All our lives, however, we’ve become much more focused in the last 12 months.
What do you think sets your show apart from all the other festival offerings?
The Establishment: Eton Mess is an extremely fun, very silly, high-spirited show which touches on many of the important issues that face us as a nation today.
What’s the best bit of advice you’ve ever been given for performing at a Fringe Festival?
If your show was a flavour of ice cream being sold on Brighton Pier, what would it be?
Does Eton Mess exist as a flavour of ice cream? Otherwise Strawberries and Cream.
