NEWS: Ipswich’s Pulse Festival passes the 600 show mark

Last night’s performance of Proto-type Theatre’s A Machine They’re Secretly Building marked the 600th show in the festival’s 16-year history. That’s 600 individual shows, not performances and doesn’t include the many free bands that have performed after the day’s events.

It’s an impressive feat, but who has taken the other milestone slots in the festival’s history? We’ve dug into the archive to find out…

1st Show – Suffolk Youth Theatre – Jungle Book

100th – Romany Theatre Company – Our Big Land

200th – Random Dance – Random Frequencies

300th – Shams – Reykjavik

400th – Sam Halmarack and the Miserablites

500th – J. Fergus Evans – My Heart Is Hitchhiking Down Peachtree Street

600th – Proto- type Theatre – A Machine They’re Secretly Building

Who will claim the 700th show title? Or the 100th show? At the average rate of Pulse shows per year, we should find out the 100th show sometime in 2024!
