LIVERPOOL LAUGHS: Hannah Jones – Best Days Of Your Life

Our Liverpool Laughs series offers short, witty and slightly tongue-in-cheek insights into the offerings at the Liverpool Comedy Festival. Hannah Jones tells us about her showBest Days Of Your Life, which she will be performing at Funny Looking Fringe at 81 Renshaw Street.

How would you describe your show in one sentence?

A chance to reminisce and laugh about all the fun and ridiculous stuff that went on in our school days.

Is this your first visit to the Liverpool Comedy Festival, if so what interesting tales have you been told about what to expect?

It is my first time – I don’t know anything.

How has the show developed on the way to the Liverpool Comedy Festival?

Unlike most other people this is not an Edinburgh show that I’m repeating in Liverpool. This performance will be my first and possibly last of the show, which will hopefully make it exciting.

How have you been preparing for the Liverpool Comedy Festival?

Buying Pogs and Trolls off eBay and reading my diary from the year 2000.

What do you think sets your show apart from all the other festival offerings?

I like to do comedy that is quite visual with props and visual gags. The show will probably be more mum friendly than other shows. I try to be nearer the lovely end of the spectrum rather than angry and sweary, I might do one swear but that is essential to the telling of this one particular joke.

Who in the comedy world influences you the most?

Nina Conti and Josh Widdicombe are some of my faves. Liverpool sketch troop The Legion of Doom claim to be my comedy godparents, as they gave me my first ever gig.

What was your worst on stage experience?

When everyone though I’d just said something massively racist, but actually it was all a big misunderstanding.

What is your favourite cracker joke?

My wife is flying to America. Chicago? No, she passenger.
