FIVE FAST FRINGE QUESTIONS with…Ever Mainard on her show Let Me Be Your Main Man

With over 3000 shows at the world’s biggest arts festival, here at The ReviewsHub,we want to make the job of choosing your Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows that little bit easier. So here’s Ever Mainard fromLet Me Be Your Main Mananswering our annual Five Fast Fringe Questions.

In one sentence tell us about your show.

Let Me Be Your Main Man is about my childhood in Texas, coming of age in Chicago, and dealing with the bullshit hippie crap that L.A. people offer when someone is going through heartache. That was a bit of a run-on.

What made you decide to bring a show this year?

I’m working with Brett Vincent from Get Comedy. When I found out I was invited I was super excited and then very nervous. I sat and I thought, ‘what is the one thing that I love that would be completely universal?’ And it dawned on me- American fast food. So this whole show is about my favorite fries from McDonalds and why Starbucks is the best coffee in the world. Oh, and guns.

Any advice you’ve heard or can give to anyone coming to the Fringe for the first time?

I’ve heard that it’s bright outside till 4am and to really learn how to stage your drinking. I don’t know if that’s true or not but I’m taking that as a challenge. I also saw an episode of House Hunters International/ Edinburgh and I look forward to finding the houses and apartments that were featured in that episode.

What makes your show stand out from all of the others on offer? (Don’t say that it’s because you’re in it!)

Do you like surfboards and pizza? What about rock-n-roll and good times? Cool. Me too. How do you feel about glitter paint and puppies? Crazy, me too. Do you like good times and cool chicks? Noiiice, bro. How do you feel about Texas? Just as confused as me? High-five! And I’m from there! Cool tattoo- what does it mean? Sick, I have one too. Are you a heckler? Fine. I don’t care. Because I do a lot of crowd work and I’m not afraid of your ass. Talk to me, baby!

What show, other than your own, do you not want to miss?

Yeti’s Demon Dive Bar looks pretty fucking rad.

Alison Spittle Discovers Hawaii looks super funny.

Finally, the boring but essential bit…
