FIVE FAST FRINGE QUESTIONS with Doughnut Productions

Next up in our annual series of Fringe preview Q & A’s it’s the turn of Doughnut Productions on their duo of productions: Speaking in Tongues – The Lies  and Speaking in Tongues – The Truths.

In one sentence tell us about your show

Our audience sit on swivel seats with 360 degree views as this story of love, infidelity and a missing person unravel around them.

What made you decide to bring a show this year?

Having performed this show twice in London, we sat down as a team and everyone was up for taking it to Edinburgh so we decided to give it a shot. To our knowledge we are the only swivel seat theatre company, we want to gain bigger audiences and we feel Edinburgh is the perfect place to give us that opportunity.

Any advice you’ve heard or can give to anyone coming to the Fringe for the first time?

I think the best piece of advice we were given was to engage a PR person, having that off our plates has allowed us to focus on the quality of our show. Also to share the workload with your company and delegate jobs to people’s strengths.

What makes your show stand out from all of the others on offer? (Don’t say that it’s because you’re in it!)

Swivel seats!

What show, other than your own, do you not want to miss?

Bruce. A puppetry show starring a yellow block of foam.

Finally, the boring but essential bit:

Name of the show(s):  Speaking in Tongues – The Lies  and Speaking in Tongues – The Truths

Venue: Green Space at Pleasance Courtyard

Dates: 2 August – 29 August 2017 (not 17/18)

Time: 19:00 and 20:15
